Our whitewater kayaking curriculum is designed for small groups that are often set up as private lessons for groups of 5 or less. The Introductory course is out at the lake or in a pool. Our intermediate course is on moving water but avoiding most rapids where we continue to practice our new skill set, while learning basic hydrology. The advanced course takes us into the whitewater and deeper into river features and river reading. Also offered is a roll clinic if you want to practice or learn your kayak roll.
Whitewater Kayaking- Intro to hard shell whitewater boats
In our intro course we start with basic terminology and move to wet exits, paddle strokes, T-rescues, more nomenclature, racking your boat, braces, safety and equipment, all on the lake or in the pool. This course is typically about 6 hours and we can break that up into two days or three depending on your needs.
Whitewater Kayaking- Moving Water
Our Moving Water course is on moving water, where we will practice all skills from the basic course on moving water (2 trips on a mellow section of the Upper Spokane) river terminology and hydrology basics. We will practice pulling eddies and braces so that when we move to the whitewater we are confident and ready.
Roll Clinic can be added to any of the three aforementioned classes
Our roll clinics cover the concepts and fundamentals of rolling a kayak, with plenty of time for practice and one-on-one instruction.
The staff at FLOW Adventures loves to get out on the river as much as possible whether we are guiding, instructing, or just personally recreating. We leave the schedule open all summer long to accommodate anyone that wants to head out on the river at just about anytime, so give us a call and lets set put the adventure on paper and head to the river.

Paddle Boarding on the Lake!
If you want to be on the cutting edge of water sports then you must give paddle-boarding a chance. It has several names beginning with beach boy surfing, stand up paddle surfing (SUP surfing), and paddle boarding. It is spreading across the world as people realize how much fun it is to “walk on water.” The sport is just taking off, so this is your opportunity to get in the front of the line and learn the sport before people around you start talking about it. Paddle boarding is for anyone that is interested in standing on water and cruising around the lake, ocean or river.
